Yesterday, as we ran errands
We heard a slight bang
from the backseat.

My small boy had fallen
Asleep
and his head, unsupported,
Knocked the window.

My Darrell parked the truck...
Took off his outer shirt
And made a pillow
For our baby

Tonight, my sweet girl
Has crawled in
next to him
While he sleeps before his
Night shift
And he hugs her
Without waking up
Sending her to sleep as well.

That is why he is my
Children's father.
