dVerse Poetics.

Grace's Poetics prompt today is to use the amazing artwork of Sunita Khedekar as inspiration for a poem about Spring. I love this piece! Please visit her Facebook page or her Blog. I have chosen to write a Collum Lune (one of my favorite forms...very Twitter friendly) about my sweet girl. For more poems using the art of Sunita Khedekar as inspiration, go check out the submissions over at dVerse!

    1. Thanks Brian. I put the color part of the prompt to the side, didn't I? I love this picture, and it made me want to write about her in a way that wasn't about her illness or delays (or my inability to cope with them.) She is so much more.

  5. Children are precious. It is a gift for a mother to have a daughter and a father to have a son and a precious gift when we have grand-daughters and can see the links travelling down the ancestral line as this image depicts and as you write.

  9. Beautiful--children ARE a lot like spring! Full of life, sweetness, and a volatility that sometimes has to be held a bit in check like garden weeds! Excellent work.

    1. Hi Nico! Thank you! Oh that volatility...some days I have to remind myself that it is actually a good thing...all part of growing up. And on those days, I have to remind myself a lot.:)
