dverse Form for All: Pi Day

Pi Day
Today
Fooled me when
I wanted apple pie.
What I got was three point one four.
Math sucks!

written 3/14/13 for dVerse Form For All
I have lost my netbook, which means that I am writing this on my phone. So thank you Tony for the prompt for a cinquain! I've been practicing these, and I think I am still writing prose rather than poetry. Oh well, it'll click sooner or later. I write another cinquain in response to the prompt that  is more prosey, but I'll save that for another day. Now let's see if I can link this baby. (and if y'all see my computer around, please tell it to come back home)

  6. Given pi has no end to it, if you had apple pies in that number, you could eat until, infinity!

  10. I always prefer prose style poetry, to be honest. But it is nice to learn form ... that is what I 'm trying to do as well. This is very, very cute!

    1. Thank you Margaret! I have been keeping a notebook and each time I see someone write in a form I don't know (which happens at least weekly) I write it down with ideas. I enjoyed visiting your blog and appreciate your visit here.

  14. Well, you can use pi to determine the area of your apple pie while you enjoy eating it. Not bad for math. Hope you find your net book.

    1. Hi Eusebia! Okay, math doesn't always suck, except when you are denied the apple pie that you deserve. Thanks for coming by.

  17. Oh, and if any of y'all know a good place to get or a good recipe for strawberry-rhubarb, I'm interested. I have also added the fixings for apple pie to my grocery list, and I was sure to add some cheddar cheese for the side!

  18. This is great fun, Heidi, and you've clearly struck a chord with most of your readers. Me - I like maths. Now before I run away to a chorus of hisses and boos - I like apple pie more :-)

    1. Hi Tony! This was a fun prompt. You're welcome here even if you like math. Sometimes the more complicated forms of poetry remind me of math. Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Hi Linda! I am still catching up from my sweetie-pies' spring break. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I have become overfond of cinquains, I think. I also think that you have given me a craving for pumpkin pie with some hand whipped whipped cream.

  23. So clever. I kind of like math, but also pie. So sorry about the netbook. I have been there- not losing my computer but I've had a lot of internet outtages where only the phone will work. It's amazing that one CAN use the phone, but still difficult. Thanks. k.
