Memory Drift

poem and photo by heidi helmer

My memories are here
drifting like

clouds.

written 5/15/14 for dVerse Meeting the Bar

Victoria is tending today and has us writing a Tilus, a form developed by Kelvin S.M. There is supposed to be a break in between the last two lines, but I forgot it before I saved the image. This piece is not only my first Tilus, but also my first attempt at scanner photography.  I am looking forward to trying out both again soon. So, while your surfing, head on over to the Pub and check out the Tilus!

  1. very cool...the picture/word combo plays well...the words among the photos from your life....the allusion to them being drifting clouds, nice...

  2. I'd say this is perfect. Nature stealing in on the deeper meaning.

  3. that is a very cool and interesting image... the memories drifting... they indeed have this fragmental quality - showing up suddenly and disappear again the same way...nice

  7. If a haiku with a picture is haiga - would a tilius with picture be a taiga?

Anyway .. those drifting clouds.. exactly like memories

    1. Thanks Bjorn! I have been having fun playing with variations of the haiga. I like taiga, and at least one luaiga? (with a lune?)

  12. you know, memories are ephemeral - like clouds - so few words, such a strong vivid image you evoked. Thanks
