  1. Dogs can do that to our hearts. If you 've never seen it, look up "God and Dog" on youtube. It's as succinct and beautiful as this offering. THanks.

  2. so touching...I had a friend so dear as well, she was 18. I will take joy in thinking they are hanging out together now somewhere, keeping each other company. lovely tribute.

    1. i loved the picture of Woobie! Emma was 5 when I took these pictures and almost 14 when she died. i still have dreams sometimes that she is running around in a field that I have never seen.

    1. thanks brian. the five years refers to how long she's been gone and sometimes it seems like it just happened.

  5. I am so sorry! I never understood how people could love a pet so much until I got my own dogs.

    1. hi robyn! i loved the pictures of your puppies. lately, i have been posting and then i'll go read the blogs on my bloglist and see that there is a common element between the posts. it is amazing how quickly dogs can become part of the family.

  6. Dogs burrow into our hearts and remain there forever. I'm sorry for your loss. I'll never forget my Juno.

    1. I think pets are ideal subjects for poetry. They are good friends and get right into your heart.

  8. I have had pets (mostly dogs) since the day I left my father's house. I have cried more than a few times when they have left me but the love and companionship they offers more than makes up for the heartache when they are gone.
This poem says a lot...great writing

Hi! Thank you for the visit! Grab a plate and a sweet tea and let's dig in. It may take a while, but I always try to reply and return visits.
