Brian wrote a wonderful into to tonight's OLN about things that make us happy. Obviously, I enjoy the intellectual and creative challenges presented by hashtag games on Twitter. So here's a little bit of found brilliance for your consideration (and I thought y'all may want a break from the my-kids-are-so-freaking-funny posts I do.) Most of these I saw first posted by @MyVoganPoetry, @FootPoundForce, @baleheadmaria, @TheHashtagGame, @SalomeWilde, and some folks who were angry with Texas.  I am not sure who originally came up with these gems, and if you know, please tell me so I can give credit.

I thought that instead of the usual comments, and instead of the ones that you think but are too polite to post (what the fuck is this crap, heidi?) you could leave a hashtag or a hashtag response or both. You know, like a party!

Happy, Happy Anniversary dVerse. I am grateful for y'all and your posts #everysinglefuckingday.

  6. Love the hashtags -- uniquely 21st century found poetry. And the tampon one? I am much more offended by the events that precipitated it than by the phrase itself :)

Thanks for Stopping By. The Events That Inspired Those Hashtags WereMoreOffensive Than The Hashtags

    1. I do sometimes wish there was a little instruction pamphlet that popped up when you sign up for Twitter. I originally started it to post micropoetry, so that I could try to write at least one new thing a day. It was through Twitter that I found Kellie Elmore's site/prompt and dVerse Poets Pub which were the gateways to all other writing sites I have visited since. Plus, I discovered hashtag games like above and I think they help my writing as well. Lately, I have been watching poetry tag between @Andreathepoet and @Eusebia_Philos. Like anything else, it has an ugly side, but it has been good to me.

      oh and

I regret that I have but one tampon to lose for my country

  8. Good fun! I believe the French Government say #nohastag as they want to keep the French language pure of English words, so they are using mot-dièse!

  10. WTFarrrrrrrrk!...that's how we say it down under:)I still think twitter has something to do with birds ...don't know what a hash tag is...don't know how to link..and it's a miracle I have even worked out to operate a blog...and having made all of these admissions...surprisingly enough, I'm not the slightest bit stupid:)
